Snap, Crackle, Pop

So Friday, I made a big blog post about not giving up and how I was going to try to create a sustainable habit that I could build from. I was feeling motivated and good. I had done my morning practice, and I had some music on while I was cleaning and I was feeling pretty excited for the day. Then the stupidest thing happened. I bent over to pick up some laundry, and there was a small *POP* sound, followed immediately with some sharp back pain and my entire lower back locking up. I’ve never had this happen before, and it was frankly a little scary. There was no loss of feeling or control, and I was able to finish with my cleaning, but my back is angry, and stiff now.

I was able to do a bit of very gentle yoga for back pain yesterday and it helped stretch out the tight muscles a bit. I also picked up a back brace, and the pressure from that has also helped with the tenderness. I had a one-on-one scheduled with Todai Ferris this morning and we covered some good exercises/stretches for helping to recover from back injuries. I won’t be doing sit-ups for a while, but I can try to do some bridges and “Upside Down Bugs” instead for the next little while.

Oh. Back issues can be tough to get rid of. We should talk more about stretching and strengthening your core.

I hope you are feeling better soon! I have found that stretching is as important to my routine as all of my reps of everything else is.
By the way, the picture you posted are delicious Rice Krispie squares! I made them for the first time at Christmas lol.

    1. I was thinking of the “Snap, Crackle, Pop, Kellogg’s Rice Krispie’s” jingle when I titled this post. I especially love the peanut butter and chocolate ones, which are dare I say, even better then Reese Peanut Butter cups. I got that picture from a recipe at: https://bebraveandbloom.com/peanut-butter-rice-krispie-bars/ and I am definitely thinking I might need to make a batch of them. I enjoy baking, but it has been a while since I made any rice krispies.
